To be clear: obviously not saying the Irish are currently marginalized or ever POC; I just appreciate his clear eyed understanding of the full nature and impact of colonialism and the way he chooses to speak to that.

The man even acknowledged the impact of colonialism on the **Irish** ffs. He didn't have to, it wasn't an Irish story. I was just thrilled (and deeply touched) at the thoughtful inclusion during this absolute masterpiece of a movie.

This criticism is unhelpful and undeserved IMO.

Unregulated boredom *may* be a factor for some guys, but I'd urge you to consider that there may be other explanations as well.

I'm a liberal guy who grew up in a very violent area. I've been shot at, lost friends to gun violence, & during middle school got into fights almost daily (only started 2). I have no problem being in large or unfamiliar cities but I do suffer from hyper vigilance described here as a result of PTSD.

When "pro-life" folks start scoffing at reports of rising maternal mortality rates due to abortion bans, claiming the data is only coming from liberal states, THIS IS WHY.

US game dev(?) in Seattle here. I've actually been looking at Uruguay for the last 5+years or so for retirement. Visited for a week this spring and LOVED it. The election has me considering a faster transition, but I hope to be there in 5 years or so, even if it's while working remote at first.
