I hate it when scientists use obscure technical terms like "nobber"

There isn't a "queue" - the EU would not deny the UK membership while they waited for Ukraine. Having said that, I agree with you generally - it would take a long time - quite possibly longer than Ukraine.

It’s not case sensitive when used for email, but your email address is often used as a username - in that case it could be case sensitive- so the customers aren’t as daft as you make out.

The policy was kicked of by the Conservatives - so basically any MP

Just logged out from my desktop and back in with no problems. They just released an iPad version of the app yesterday that uses the same process as the desktop app - they may be having higher than normal traffic.

Also concerned that Trump and Musk are vindictive enough to give Russia full access while blocking Ukraine

Biggest concern is the US turning off Starlink - there’s no European alternative. Fortunately I think Galileo can replace GPS.

Had the cat on my knee on a long journey along twisty roads on west coast of Scotland in Renault 12 estate with very soft suspension. Threw up on the cat which panicked and ran around the car trailing puke everywhere - to this day, don't know how my dad kept control
February 25, 2025 at 7:46 PM
Having said that, if was involved in some of the activities Musk/Trump are gunning for (e.g. DEI), I would want ADP activated - as I said in my follow up post, I don't agree with the UK governments actions in forcing its removal. But its not the wholesale trashing of Apple UK users security
February 22, 2025 at 1:39 PM
All users using ADP would be madness. Using ADP hugely increases the risk of losing access to all your data. as it requires much more onerous activity at the user end, backing up keys. For most users it's more important that Apple can help recover access when they forget their password or PIN code.
February 22, 2025 at 1:34 PM
I don’t agree with Labour’s action - but there’s a hell of a lot of needless pearl clutching going on about the impact
February 22, 2025 at 12:14 PM
Except all they’ve done is turned of Advanced Data Protection. A tiny proportion of Apple users would have had it switched on - so actually probably less than 5% of that 45% have been impacted.

No need to scaremonger
February 22, 2025 at 12:12 PM
Where is your quote from? - it's not from the BBC article. UK users data will still be encrypted - but the key will be held by Apple rather than the user - this is the case for the vast majority of Apple users worldwide. I don't like removal of ADP, but there's an awful lot of scaremongering.

I'd have to get up early every Sunday and work Christmas Day - not for me. Maybe they would negotiate - move church services to Thursday's and shift the Christmas Day service to the day after boxing day (I never do much on that day anyway - still want at least double time though).
