"A Bishop & an Architect walk into a bar....."
Begun in 1843 by architect William Deane Butler. A jealous rival claimed his professional success was 'principally owing to his convivial and conversational powers, and his admirable manner of telling slang stories, and singing funny songs'.

Let him come hither;
One here will Constant be,
Come Wind, come Weather.
There's no Discouragement,

18th century William Colles Kilkenny bored waterpipe. Prior to this many pipes were (yes) wooden . A scheme to bring water to Dublin using marble piping was sabotaged by a mob of local pump-makers and mechanics, who saw the new technology as a threat and destroyed the pipes upon their arrival.

“Near yonder copse, where once the garden smiled,
And still where many a garden-flower grows wild,
There, where a few torn shrubs the place disclose,
The village preacher’s modest mansion rose.”

Rhapsody in Blue- I'm very proud of my hedge. Sloes are the fruit of the blackthorn tree, native to Ireland and found in hedgerows and wild areas. The berries are traditionally harvested in late autumn, after the first frost, for use in making sloe gin, jellies, jams, and wines.

Ordinance Survey Benchmark. Measurement to the next mark was done using a Gunter’s chain — a 66-ft surveying tool w/ 100 links. It helped standardize land measurement a link being 7.92 inches long, which allows for easy conversion to acres & miles (10 square chains = 1 acre; 80 chains = 1 mile).
