Im playing devils advocate so i dont necessarily agree with what im saying, but again, for reasons everyone who watched the movie knows, having the kids be covered in blood could give away a little about the ending for those who havent

Hes an animal actor and this is fiction, you gotta calm down. You realize ghosts arent real right? Likely the dog has no clue whats happening, hes just watching a group of 30 humans stand around him with cameras. Ocasionally a dude jumps out at him, one of the humans yells cut and he gets a treat

I mean the poster implies we never see the children again, and in the trailers we see them running away and theyre not covered in blood. The director wouldnt put fake blood on child actors if they didnt plan on filming them that way, ergo, one could infer that the kids come back. Spoiler.
