i think the problem is that people think such scenarios are zero-sum, in the sense that "oh, people who do the thing that i don't like don't want me" which is perhaps the biggest problem that i don't know how me and others to tackle, when it doesn't even seem that complex.

which is funny because if we go by statistics, what children really need protection from is their parents.
