So many Americans are in a constant state of uncertainty and anxiety right now. Respectfully, I don't know if we'd classify the events of the last few months as 'exciting'.

In my experience, it's not that they don't care. It's that the stakes aren't as high for them so they aren't compelled to put their necks on the line like others might be. That's not an indictment, just an observation.

Grateful to be a born-and-raised Illinoisan and a "Save the Malort for my frenemies" Chicagoan.

Good point. I could have been much, much more precise in my language in re: Pelosi. Thanks for that.

If they are so horrible, why is the Dems plan to pass that CR? We need to fight against the corruption, not co-sign it. Now is not the time to obey in advance. It is the time to fight. #rejecttheCR

If they weren't already doing that, I'd agree with you.

For the love of all that is holy, could you people grow a spine? Why is capitulation the only language Democrats understand? Can we get Nany Pelosi out of retirement? She'd know how to handle this mess we're in.

I would love for the State of the Union if y'all could coordinate a walk out. One person walks out at each lie told until the only ones left are the "democrats" who voted to censure Al Green and John Fetterman. They've already proven they aren't interested in anything but keeping their jobs.

Thank you for making it on a Saturday!!

That's what is so frustrating. He would have been censured anyway given the balance in votes. Why make it clear that you're not going to support resistance on behalf of your voters? To me, it just seems like a really good way to get un-elected at the next vote.

I may be too late to the party, but what is up with some Dems voting to censure Al Green? I wish they would have applied that energy of eating their own to fighting the authoritarian and proto-fascist policies coming out of DC.

Exactly. I live in a major midwestern city where these kinds of meetings can get lost in the shuffle of all the stuff going on. But dadgumit if there has been anything other than crickets from the DNC or elected reps.

So I saw the text (not the photo) right after I saw Tim Walz' post about Minnesotans staying safe during the snowstorm and I was soooo confused. I am only slightly less confused after reading your post in full.
