Have you given Mac an honest try. I daily drive both Mac and Linux and can say that Mac is way more tolerable than Windows.

That is the Linux experience, unfortunately. I've been in your shoes too many times. It's a learning curve. You'll become a very good troubleshooter if you stick with it.

Maybe the problem lies with Firefox. God knows I have had a hell of a time getting my applications to work correctly on FF lately.
