The Others. First time rewatching this one since its original release. The second watch is amazing, not sure why I hadn't rewashed it before now.

V/H/S Halloween. A decent entry in the anthology series. Has one truly great segment in the closer 'Home Haunt' with a rare appearance from Rick Baker. The low point is 'Kidprint', a segment that starts out amazingly and just devolves into pointless 'edgy' gore.

Weapons. A modern masterpiece. Brilliantly told through converging perspectives. Each giving a bit more information than the last. And a final payoff scene that might be my favorite villain death ever put on film. Modern horror is in great hands with guys like Creggor, Perkins, Peele, and Eggers.

Slender Man. Well, they took a played out (even in 2018 when it was released) Internet meme and made just about the least interesting movie out of it that you could. Reports say studio meddling and a forced PG-13 hampered the movie but I don't even think an R rated director's cut could salvage this.

Blair Witch. The original Blair Witch Project was a singular experience, you had to be there in '99. The immediate follow-up 'Book of Shadows' just wasn't the right sequel, but 2016's Blair Witch gets it right. Found footage style, new and expanded lore, ans a deep connection to the first movie.

Caddo Lake. Perhaps miscategorized as horror on HBO Max, but I'm really glad it was. I'd fear spoilers if I say much, but I really enjoyed this movie. It puts several threads in motion and then lets you go on the ride as they connect them. A familiar twist, but worth watching for sure.

Smile 2. A pretty by the numbers sequel, but I enjoyed it. I like the spin of having a pop star as the main character. Great payoff at the end with a bonkers looking Smile monster. If you liked the first one, it's more of that.

The Monkey. Catching up on my Oz Perkins movies. Not a typical one for Oz, a much more straightforward horror with comedy thrown in based on the King story. Some gross laugh out loud moments in this one. Perhaps the funniest disembowling ever committed to film.😁

Longlegs. I've been a huge fan of Oz Perkins since his amazing debut with Blackcoat's Daughter. This one was no exception and even felt like a bit of a spiritual sequel to Blackcoat, or at least a further examination of the same subject. Loved it.

A teaser for this show would be perfectly placed as an ad that ran during the commercial break during The Running Man.
