Miss Fiona shows promise as a mouser, but as Hans Solo once said: “Good against remotes is one thing…”

Allow me to interrupt your doomscrolling with the joyous news of the arrival of our new cat, Fiona. She’s a seven-year-old, basketball-shaped rescue in need of love and a diet. She’s currently settling in, but I promise way too many pictures will be coming soon. #Caturday

Today was the first day I saw my book "The Every Computer Performance Book" in the stacks of our local library. My parents would be proud.

We had a big multi-generational family dinner tonight. Everyone brought a dish and it was delish. Funny stories were told on ourselves and those that have left us. Memories, connections, laughter, and love. It doesn't get any better than that!

Ornaments... I've decorated many Christmas trees, and each ornament hung is a reminder of a place, of a time, and the wonderful people (some of whom now only exist in memory) that were part of my life.

The tree is in the stand and illuminated. My homebuilt house under the tree looks great! #Christmas

The handmade wreath is up and the Christmas tree is in the stand. We are thankful to have a home for these symbols of the season.

Both my dear wife and I are sick. Today a wonderful neighbor came by with a healing gift and shoveled our snow covered walkway. In these tough times, simple kindness matters. Help one another.

I engaged in a little emotional support baking yesterday and made Pineapple UpsideDown Cake. Comfort food from my youth. Just what the doctor ordered during these trying times. Delish.

Returning to my childhood, yesterday I had a peanut butter sandwich with a glass of chocolate milk made with way too much Hershey's syrup. It is good to be ten again.
