Pottery. Just pottery. I have decided to dedicate this account to ceramic arts. If you make pottery and post it, I will do my Benny best to find and follow you.
Nice, I have been watching your progress because I want to make rollers in the future too. I appreciate you sharing your trials here with us!

Can you design a roller with a larger diameter? Maybe even just print a 1” wide section? I am wondering if the clay is moving away from your embossed design instead of going into it. Small features on a big diameter might keep them closer to the clay and let the clay drive into them better.

Excellent work! I would have assumed this one thrown in one piece because of the way the form sits. This moon jar definitely has a sense of permanence at this scale.

Thank you for sharing this! I just had to check out other listings to see if this was a one off. Favorite line about a pyrometric cone so far is, “Their durable construction ensures they can withstand repeated use while maintaining their shape and functionality.”

Just found your work on a ceramics feed. I use fusion 360, I have used the method below for flat surfaces. Any grayscale or b/w image should work. I’m not sure if you can wrap it around a cylinder?

I’m digging the unglazed spots and stripes you put on your simple mugs.

This form is amazing! Great work!

I’m really enjoying the way the brown layers on the white. The brown just kinda floats on top at the transition.

Tony Hansen has an article about reduction speckling. Near the end he talks about adding granular manganese to the clay body for a cone 6 speckle effect in oxidation.

He also has a profile here on bsky. You might be able to ask him directly

I was browsing a ceramic feed and saw your work. I’m loving the texture these vessels! The glazes you have chosen compliment them perfectly and really bring out the patterns. It’s cool to see the side by side of the white and brown clay in this one, too!

I’m in the US.

What an efficient way to cut a foot quickly. Thank you for sharing your trimming technique!

That’s a lot of clay! Impressive work. Is this a show piece or commission?

This is slick as hell! The notched foot matches the form so well. That glaze is dynamic and highlights each feature perfectly. Love it!

My recommendation is to use Murphy oil soap on the 3d print as a mold release. I 3d print my forms and then make a plaster mold from them. I use No.1 potters plaster, it sets up quickly and is made specifically for slip casting. If you want recommendations on resources I found helpful, let me know!
