Ghost height is unrelated to kurtosis. On the other hand, if they have a long wispy thin trailer, then they are leptokurtic.

Please study current literature on kurtosis. Peakedness/flatness is incorrect. Further, you *can't* have [high] kurtosis without outliers. Kurtosis is specifically a measure of the tails (outliers). Please see stats.stackexchange.com/a/659828/102... and references contained therein.

"kurtosis means extreme values disappear?" Shouldn't it be the other way around? After all, kurtosis measures the extremes, or tails. With high kurtosis, there are guaranteed to be occasional extreme values.
