Here's what I've got atm -- it's definitely middle-of-the-road, but I'm workin' on it.

You pick some honses for your current character to inherit some stats/traits from, pick some cards for some stat boosts/random encounters, and then raise stats to help you win races. At the end of a run, you can use that end result to help future runs, etc.
