Your missing the point, TC. Without the necessary info, how are they meant to make a reasoned judgement either way. The older you become, you just want a quiet life knowing your pension is secure to live the life you worked all your days for. Gullible ? Maybe some - but not all !

Agreed. And I do try to educate them as much as they're willing to let me. However, it's not the same as John Swinney or even Stephen Flynn appearing on TV and laying it bare to the masses.

Yes, I'm aware of this, RJ - the problem is that no-one outside the Indy movement is aware of these facts. We need the major players to stand up and spell out the advantages of leaving the Union regarding pensions and finances in general.

You know what ? I couldn't disagree ! As a long time Indy supporter, I know the ScotGov has great plans for the protection of it's senior citizens but I do think it's missing a trick by not addressing this section of society directly. So, c'mon Mr Swinney, time blow your trumpet !! 🏴🏴🏴

He told me that if Scotland broke away, his pension would be a risk and there was a danger he'd even lose his police pension. When I told him that our pensions were not only safe, they would be so much better in an Indy Scotland. Then why has the ScotGov not told them this ?

Recently, I was talking to a fellow golfer at another club and we got to talking about politics and any future Indy vote. Jack (not his real name), is a retired senior police officer, so a fairly intelligent and astute guy. When he said he would probably vote for the status quo, I asked why. (2)

Most people in England agree. Scotland claims it wants a green economy, so we keep the gas and oil, and we'd be glad to support full Scottish independence, most English people have wanted rid of the whiner charity case nation for decades.
