Resting in the shadows of high rises, hydro corridors, and mulberry trees—not far from his home in Hamilton’s Rosedale—Ernest returned from war in 1945, suffering poor health until his death at age 34 in the old Gage Ave military hospital.
I hope he found some joy after the war.

Momento Mori: final day for #31daysofgraves. A new stone went in beside Mom's, with the last person to be interred there having my birthday. If nothing else, cemetery rambles are its own momento mori; we will all be carried off, one day, so enjoy the here and now. Union Burying Ground, Burlington.
