Reason # 54: Went to Les Schwab to buy tire socks, and brought my old chains in to ask a question. Person helping me let me exchange the old chains for tire socks, totally their idea. Also, I just like "tire socks," kinda like Hobbes likes "smock."

Yes! Published in 1970. The kid tries to make skis for Henry the cat, but it doesn't seem to take. Then when the family accidentally leaves Henry behind, he uses them to try to get home.
