The US would never allow Chinese companies to build or sell their cars tarrif free in the US. It would severely hurt their car industry. It'll do the same to ours and we are only considering opening up to Chinese EVs because Trump is actively trying to destroy our car industry.

China does not care about prestige. They don't care about Canada. They barely care about the United States. They let relations with the US burn if America insults them. They don't care. They are so big that they really don't need the US. And if they don't need the US, they definitely don't need us.

Europe is a way larger market. I want China to build here, but they won't. It isn't in their best interest. How many cars are they actually gonna sell in Canada? It's not worth the expense for our market. They will only be interested in export their cars to Canada, tariff-free.

It's worth a shot. I'd try and negotiate that, but China will never agree. They aren't going to pay Canadian wages, deal with Canadian unions and labour laws. Plus the expense of building or reprovision plants for a country with a crazy small population.

To quote Mango Mussolini, we don't have the cards. I want better and more open trade with China, but they don't care that much. They are offering to drop their retaliatory tariffs on our agriculture if we drop out tariffs on their EVs. It will be up to us to decide.

China wants to export their cars. They aren't interested in providing for Canadians. We are such a tiny market compared to their own domestic market.

They aren't going to assemble here. They aren't going to pay Canadian wages, deal with Canadian unions and Canadian labour laws for a small market. It would not benefit China at all.

It's just replacing a player due to bat. Once a player is replaced though, that player is out of the game and the pinch hitter replaces him on the field. But the pinch hitter can be replaced as well, like any player, at any time but another player who hasn't played yet.

If it was an MVP award for that game, I'd agree, but I think Vladdy deserved that award. He was the American League MVP. My understanding is that it was for the entire season, including the playoffs. Maybe I'm wrong.
