Oh, and if you need a guide on how to 3D-print your own whistles for ICE awareness, there are printables linked in our story:
The Latest Defense Against ICE: 3D-Printed Whistles
Chicagoans are making, sharing, and printing designs for whistles that can warn people when ICE is in the area. The goal is to “prevent as many people from being kidnapped as possible.”

This is good, but Steve Bannon on camera telling a room full of people that if GOP loses the majority a lot of people are going to jail including him is still my favorite.

They want to prove government can't benefit anybody and can't work at all. They want absolutely everything in the hands of private, for profit business. It's called anarcho-capitalism, or corporate feudalism. This has been the goal of GOP since Reagan. It's a pre-1776 form of social organization.

They want to gut the ACA because they don't want people to think government can benefit them or function at all.

100% People are scared shitless. Apparently that's what motivates Americans to vote.
The last 30 yrs have been an object lesson on how much better GOP is than Dems at driving votes by rage-scaring ppl.
This is what has to change. No democracy can survive a civic culture driven by fear and rage.

At the time I thought, let's see what happens in September--
when everyone's summer has been ruined by the spectacle of horrific abductions and military in the streets, skyrocketing premiums are staring people in the face, and people are voting in Nov--that's good politics.

I think you misunderstand what's happening. If GOP agrees, the extension will *expire right before the midterm elections* which will kill GOP with voters. If they refuse, GOP owns the shutdown; btw primaries start in January. Either way, ACA screws GOP. @schumer.senate.gov has GOP in a corner.

Why would he do that? What possible benefit could that have?
Alternatively, you can watch and learn.
Taking the long view, doing the unpopular thing and taking the heat for it without complaining.
This. Is. Leadership.

Speaking of @pelosi.house.gov ACA is absolute genius. It works for Dems when they're in the majority and when they're in the minority. It's breaking GOP.
That's good politics.

Yes, yes, 1,000 times yes.
I don't think most people realize what the job of Leader entails. It includes strategizing and supporting candidates across the country. @schumer.senate.gov and @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social are obviously very good at their job.
Let's give them the majority in 2026!
