It's a time machine to study prebiotic chemistry.

Titan may hold clues about how life began. Dragonfly will analyze organic compounds and search for chemical processes similar to those that may have sparked life on Earth.

Dragonfly will FLY across Titan like a drone on Earth!

Titan's thick atmosphere and low gravity make it ideal for flying. Dragonfly will take off, land, and sample locations -- something no Mars rover can do!

Titan has lakes, rivers, and rain... BUT, they're made of liquid methane!

Dragonfly will explore a world eerily like Earth, except it's -290F and the lakes are full of methane, not water!

And it's FAST!! The probe is traveling at 430,000 miles per hour—fast enough to get from Philadelphia to Washington, DC in ONE SECOND! It’s the fastest object ever made by humans, and with each orbit, it gets closer and faster as it slingshots around Venus.

Despite flying where temperatures exceed 1,800°F (1,000°C), the spacecraft’s instruments remain a cozy 85°F (29°C) inside, thanks to an ultra-advanced carbon-composite heat shield. That’s like standing next to a blast furnace with only a car sunshade to protect you—except this one really works.

It's the first spacecraft to “touch” the Sun—flying directly into the Sun’s corona, something no other mission has ever done, allowing scientists to study the solar wind and energetic particles up close, unlocking secrets about how the Sun affects space weather and even Earth’s power grids.
