This whole "51st state" rhetoric is just misdirection - He wants our oil, our water, our forestry products. A thing about small town/rural library boards - the municipal rep on that board likely knows nothing about how a library functions, ALA standards and best practices, intellectual freedom. They got stuck on the board after getting elected because they wanted a road paved. 1/2

This is your reminder to get involved with your library board. If you can't join, attend the meetings. Hold them accountable for their collection decisions. Be a witness when they try to change policies for challenges.

Everyone talks about Libby, the Overdrive ebook app, which is great, but don't sleep on CloudLibrary, which arguably has as good if not a better selection of audiobooks, and the Internet Archive, which has a ton of out of copyright and classic lit. Signed, a Northern Alberta librarian. #ebooks
