A thing about small town/rural library boards - the municipal rep on that board likely knows nothing about how a library functions, ALA standards and best practices, intellectual freedom. They got stuck on the board after getting elected because they wanted a road paved. 1/2

This is your reminder to get involved with your library board. If you can't join, attend the meetings. Hold them accountable for their collection decisions. Be a witness when they try to change policies for challenges.
