The unexpected late game genre shift is one that I can’t stand. I like SFF & mystery type things but what happened to the Alias TV show threw me for a loop and made me want to metaphorically throw it across the room. I signed up for a spy show and then it got weird.

Yeah I don’t have a ton of money but it brings me joy to support authors and my local book store. And I don’t go out to eat often but when I do I tip well. I try to avoid AMZ in general but I will absolutely buy ebooks there if the authors can‘t do Kobo for reasons.

Yes that makes sense. Thanks.

Thanks for prompting me to look it up. I’m deaf so had to find a phonetic description but sounds like it’s like the French word “feu”, which I do know how to pronounce?

I loved the Bethany graphics. They were so clear about what kind of books they likely were (and that I am probably not the target audience as a reader). But I like how different and fierce they are. Too many authors/publishers get sucked into trying to make their work fit in with expectations.

I’m not usually a horror reader but “nothing bad happens to the cats” is the thing that caught my attention and makes me willing to give it a try (got the book but haven’t had a chance to read yet). I like your approach to book promotion.

That‘s helpful to know. I assume authors get more $ if we buy the book on Kobo than if we use Kobo Plus to read?

It’s always bemused me when I remember that they play music everywhere - grocery story, restaurants, etc. It would drive me nuts if I could hear it. I like turning my hearing aids off and going from what little I can hear to complete silence.

That actually looks great and is more visually eye-catching than a lot of church signs. If I lived anywhere close I’d definitely check out St. Nicks.

I sure wish it was Friday. One more day! I always appreciate this reminder every week of what’s important, so an extra one doesn’t hurt.

It’s not on HBO Max anymore and I think Disney+ only has the seasons they did with the latest Doctor. I lucked out and found the DVDs on sale a while back. Whew.

Ooh. That sound interesting. do you remember the title?

I love your stuff and buy it as soon as it comes out. Wish I could do more to support you. It’s too bad it’s so difficult to make a living as a writer.

I keep thinking about the word hiraeth

Oh no. We once accidentally cut the really dinky internet line running through the yard while digging a hole to plant a small tree.

I’m an American but isn’t the whole point of whipped cream to put it on top just before you eat it? Seems like putting it in ahead of time would negatively affect flavor & texture.

Yeah I was thinking about it this morning because everything depends on the Internet. Communicatons, supply lines for stores, etc. I’m not sure we as a society have enough analog systems left to survive a full outage for more than a few days.

And they all claim to be different but then you look at the ingredients and they’re really not. I hamate trying to figure out what to get when they change the packaging/formulas.
