I mean this in less an individual sense. In politics, it seems like there has to be a will to collectively use it for repair. Otherwise, if someone is struggling alone with that feeling (because shame is quite intolerable in isolation), social media offers an expedient method to alleviate it.

I keep thinking about this recent discourse from you and @olufemiotaiwo.bsky.social about the need for shame. I’m still mulling over if I agree or no. But what seems like gets left out is that it takes ego strength (a strength of psyche) to tolerate and use shame productively.

This moment in time seems to be a collective over saturation of shame not an absence of it. People inoculate themselves to it and identify with it in an environment with too much shame.

Do you have a sense on what his ceiling is? I watched a few games and I struggle to gauge MLS readiness and top level ability. There’s just so much more space for strikers to operate in the box.

Totally true. It’s usually either a Pilated Woodpecker or a Northern Flicker. Although Flickers don’t usually do the damage that Woodpeckers proper do like creating holes in homes and such. They are different birds. Maybe a more meaningful difference to me.
