Early odds for measurable snow for Thursday-Friday from NWS Boulder:

About 10% for Denver/Boulder/Fort Collins (looks about right to me)

I think the odds for south metro are low...current lean would be most of DougCo/Elbert/foothills get on the board.

🌥️ More clouds than sun but lighter winds today, and a tad warmer with a high near 60° in Denver (about 10° above average).

🌨️ A bit warmer tomorrow (mid-60s) before a big cooldown, rain and perhaps our first snow of the season Thursday night and Friday morning!

Euro ensembles with about 50-50 odds for measurable snow in Denver Thu. PM-Fri. AM, but also 50-50 odds for 1/2"+ of total precip in Denver (good news!)

And 20-30% odds for 6" of snow on the higher points of the Palmer Divide 👀

Models generally ticking up.

Top takeaways from the upcoming Thursday/Friday storm...these will likely get adjusted as we get closer.

After the Thu/Fri storm, we'll get a brief 3-4 day warmup before another colder/more active look again next week.

Leaning cold, maybe snowy around Thanksgiving. Stay tuned!

Today's furcast comes from 6-year-old bully mix Paulie, who's a chunky, goofy dude with an affinity for squirrel hunting, well watching.

He LOVES toys, watching the world go by and lots of love and affection, he's a snuggler!

Tired: it might finally snow in Denver this week

Wired: We really need water, and this week's storm will likely bring us a good drink!

Important note: This is different than measurable snow. Denver's tied for its 4th-latest first measurable snow on record, as of today.

Difference between just flakes and measurable snow below!

Denver hasn't seen a single snowflake since April 19th...longest such streak on record (212 days).

Seeing a bit better model consistency today with the parent cutoff low onshore. That means likely better model data.

Good to see some meaningful water on the way for most of the state. We need it.

Starting to get a better idea about Thu/Fri impacts. Early leans:

1) Solid rain in Denver Thu PM/Fri AM, 1/2"+ possible

2) First flakes likely Fri AM, with little/no accumulation in Denver

3) Could get a solid 3-6"+ above 6k feet south of Denver (DougCo/Palmer Divide)

A bit slick at the tunnels and Vail Pass this morning, but both are open. Watch for blowing snow as well!

Gusting already to 50+ at Coal Creek Canyon already…these winds will pick up later this morning.

Good to see some actual, uh, snow in the mountains in mid-November.

2” of fresh snow overnight at Loveland Ski Area.

💨 Windy with a few clouds this morning, and a high near 60° in Denver. 20-30 mph gusts in Denver, but 50-60+ mph gusts in the foothills. Winds gradually relax tonight.

🌤️ Lighter winds with a high near 60° tomorrow before potentially a few flakes later this week.

8:45p: A few gusty showers trying to roll off the foothills, doubt much of this survives the downsloping though. Highest odds for rain will be south and west of Denver.

Officially a top-5 latest first snow in Denver as of today.

We are a lock to move into the top-3, though we may finally (and probably marginally) snap this skid later this week.

Watch for strong winds late tonight and tomorrow, foothills. 60-80 mph stuff. This looks pretty nasty.

Weather turns busy across Colorado starting tonight. Quick hit of 3-8"+ of snow above 9k feet tonight, favoring the San Juans with highest totals.

Then a nasty push of wind tomorrow, with 60+ mph gusts in the foothills/west metro in the wake of the storm.

And yes, some models showing Denver area snow Thursday-Friday. I am skeptical we see much more than a few flakes, mostly because temps look too warm. No real cold front/pull of colder air.

But, keeping an eye. Models are all over the place on this. Ignore automated apps.

Winter Weather Advisory up for most of the mountains for tonight/tomorrow for wind-driven snow.

Travel will be tough, especially tonight/tomorrow morning! Wind + snow = limited visibility. Would advise traveling during the day today or later tomorrow, if possible.

🏈 Go Broncos! Mostly sunny and warm again, with a high near 70°. It’ll be a bit breezy with 10-20 mph gusts, clouds increase this afternoon.

🥶 Notably cooler tomorrow with highs dropping into the upper 50s, and a chance for a few gusty pre-dawn rain showers.
