To still approve of this POSOTUS you have to be an a$$hole. I can't think of any other reason. And none of my friends (I disowned all friends that were Trump supporters) are getting involved. None. They don't know what is happening.

I have visited many, many US factories in New York and New England where employees were well paid and had great pride in producing goods. (Robotics will be screwing screws.) For many, citizens and immigrants, it IS the American dream, and I respect that and thank them. But I get your drift, too.

Yup, there are journalistic standards, but outside of libel, they don't seem to be enforced. I was speaking of an international organization that will certify a news organization and conduct audits, to maintain certification. If that exists, then great! Companies should advertise their compliance.

I've disowned all of my friends who voted for Trump on the basis voting for him was a fatal character flaw given all the information in news media. Fox and friends is not news media, it is "entertainment".

I have no problem with NYtImes. If people read that they'll be better informed than most. But, NYTimes is subscription based. Most young people and most MAGAs get their information from non-vetted podcasts (!).

I've also posted that there should be voluntary standards for news media to meet. Then people will at least know if what they are reading can be trusted. People are easy to dupe if what they read feeds their prejudices. I don't know too many open-minded racists.

Well, if people read the National Enquirer then they are open to being duped. If they read vetted news sources you will be better informed. There has been more stories about Trump for at least 10 years for people to make a solid determination that he is a narcissistic sociopathic liar.

There needs to be legislation against candidates and elected officials from lying and defrauding the country, so racist ignorant people don't get duped. And don't give me any of that first amendment bullshit.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO - www.iso.org/standards.html) has standards for many industries, and it might help if they developed standards for news organizations. In the US, industrial ISO standards are voluntary but many strive for ISO certification.
