I stayed up way too late last night finishing A Far Better Thing by H. G. Parry. It's a retelling of Dicken's A Tale of Two Cities with fairy magic, as narrated by Sydney Carton.

I absolutely loved it.

This was fun. It's a Kiwi-infused cozy mystery about a pair of ex-Brit coppers turned bookstore owners written by ... wait for it ... a pair of ex-Brit coppers turned bookstore owners. Definitely self-referential but an entertaining read.

Catherine Archer-Wills did a fantastic job on the covers for all 5 books in the Reforging series, but I'm particularly fond of this one for the dramatic pose and background, and for the look of determination on my fire witch character's face.
