As you are well aware, there’s a ton of nuisance in the roster building for the next 3 years. 2 more years of Happ, Seiya, and Nico; layering of the prospects and when they come up and can make an impact; payroll flexibility at different time points. It’s hard to few this one just in a vacuum

This is a good point. Most of the large acquisitions of the last 2 decades have been FA signings. Maybe Derrick Lee?
