When a representative of the government takes the life of a citizen, and the government not only exonerates the killer automatically but then publishes falsehoods about the circumstances and then refuses to conduct a transparent investigation into the death — it is totalitarianism.

Dems need an extensive ad campaign targeted at the military and law enforcement to counteract Trump, Hegseth, Miller, Noem and the others. A message of constitutionality, right and wrong. The outraged reaction of MAGA against such a campaign would be an accelerant spreading the message.

The problem with the MSNBC discussion of what to believe is its omission of the “cry wolf” factor: why should we believe Trump, even if his assessment turns out to be correct? He lies every other time and he never owns up to his mistakes.
