**New Paper** In this paper, our team has demonstrated that a telemedicine intervention led by community health workers to provide home-based post-cesarean care is acceptable (even preferred) by patients and CHWs in rural Rwanda.

After a year battling health issues, I’m so happy to back in Rwanda! Forgot how much I love being here. @partnersinhealth.bsky.social

There is a lot of variability in CHWs’ general COVID-19 attitudes. Understanding community-level perceptions is important for effective responses.

More to come from this team around crafting messages and evaluating a CHW-led intervention. 3/3

Punchline - generally if vaccines were available, CHWs got vaccinated. And in 2024, the worry and perceived risks were low - comparable or lower to other diseases. 2/3

A great way to end 2024! Our team’s first paper from our Mercury project, sharing Haitian, Malawian and Rwandan community health workers’ baseline survey results on COVID-19 vaccinations and perceptions. 1/3

2024 has been a year. But it’s proven to me that I have people in my corner and that I can do hard things.

Really enjoyed spending days with the Touch Foundation, facilitating discussions about what they want to learn about their programs’ implementation and impact.

It’s been a while since I’ve just gotten to “brainstorm” - the ideas were the product - and I loved it.

Visited the Nagasaki Peace Park, the site of an atomic bombing nearly 80 years ago, where over 60,000 people died. The skies were filled with children singing. It was incredibly moving.

Humans have the capacity to do terrible things. Humans also have the capacity to stop terrible things.

Question: no matter your profession, how do you center justice in your work?

Papaarangi Reid: I remember the intense protectiveness I felt when I became a mother, and I remind myself to feel that for all children, not just mine.
