It coordinates Culture Camps with like-minded agencies who deliver Indigenous programming and land-based teachings. The team works with Elders, the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary, the Alberta Recreation and Parks Association, and Miskanawah to help Indigenous youth reclaim their culture.

Do you know the amazing Indigenous Initiatives Team at the Trellis Society in Calgary? Most famous for being a major non-profit organization, they provide comprehensive, wrap-around support to children, youth, and families facing challenges such as homelessness, poverty, and social isolation.

In 2015, Andrew was among 250 emerging leaders selected to participate in the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference. He also recently joined the board of WINGS, the global network of grantmaker associations and philanthropic support organizations.

A chartered accountant with a background in economics and commerce, Andrew has been an active leader in the nonprofit sector for more than 15 years. He has served on numerous boards including Community Living London, Art for AIDS International, and the Southwest Local Health Integration Network. 🧵

Did you know that a study by a Boston consulting group demonstrated unequivocally the social return on investment when youth successfully completed their high school education? A remarkable $25 return for $1 invested!

The Boreal Team targets vulnerable youth experiencing housing instability within the social service sector and offers intensive support to youth, enabling them to make their own decisions while promoting healthy boundaries and habits. 🧵

She was recognized as one of Business in Vancouver’s Forty Under 40 in 2019, was nominated for a YWCA Women of Distinction Award in 2022, and received a King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025.

Zahra is also Chair of BC’s Poverty Reduction Advisory Committee, an independent committee that advises government on policy developments related to poverty reduction and prevention.

Zahra literally never stops. She remains an active volunteer in the community as Co-Chair of the Fresh Roots Urban Farm Society Board of Directors and with the Board of Cuso International.

Zahra's work experience spans a broad range both internationally and Canada, including diverse arenas such housing and homelessness, community development, microfinance, governance, fundraising, and leadership. 🧵

Building on the work Amy did at the arena, she created the Barrington Community Care and Recovery Center, which has become an integral part of the community. From coffee time, book clubs, community suppers and mental health supports, we cannot imagine where we would be without her."

To help feed those who had been displaced, Amy had an 18-wheeler refrigerator truck arrive with frozen food. She contacted the Villagedale Community Association for help and our team was able to staff the truck until all the food had been dispersed. 🧵
