Hidden Valley Observatory

The Hidden Valley Observatory, on the northwest corner of Rapid City, is maintained by the Black Hills Astronomical Society. The observatory, built in 1965, currently houses a 12” Meade telescope. Public and private star parties are held on the grounds.

The Perseids have arrived for their annual show! The gentle glow from the Moon will make the meteors a little tougher to see this year. The shower will peak the night of the 12th.
