This is why my conservative pastor is adamantly in favor of the separation of church and state. The danger is people can and do get caught up worshipping and serving a particular dogma and its carnival barker politicians. None of us can serve 2 masters and there’s just the one, who matters.

He’s spot on. They deserve no sympathy, no forgiveness, no respect. To my mind, they didn’t vote for Trump despite his many flaws and shortcomings as a human being, they voted for him precisely because of what he was.

Not usually a conspiracy guy. Would they want their influencers thinking for themselves? No. Would they make a public example of one who had decided not to toe the line? One who was known, but expendable. Then cast him as a martyr and more valuable to them dead than alive. They might.
