The most impressive technology in the rem network isn’t the rem itself but the elevators at the Édouard Monpetit station (the second deepest in North America), descending 72 meters in barely 5 seconds. It’s astounding.

I think there’s also a something that a lot of people miss: streaming doesn’t really have previews. I used to go to the movies every week, sometimes twice, and the previews were the one sure way to make me want to see another movie. Virtuous circle.Now I don’t even have any idea what’s coming out.

Oh sorry! Well the new straightforward option is RER to Chatelet then 14 to orly! Easy and same “airport ticket” (all pricing changed a few months ago). Of course you have to walk the insane chatelet station but it’s also the largest underground station in all of Europe so you can see it as a plus.

It’s not Paris’ best area for sure but I wanted to check out the newly opened station and Olympics installations. Mostly I’m surprised a transit junky like you didn’t want to experience the new ligne 14 (maybe you already have?).

It wasn’t a dig I’m impressed! Even before Ligne 14 opened Orlyval was too expensive and inconvenient for Parisians. There used to be a direct shuttle bus but no more. Last time I took the RER to La plaine-Stade and walked to St Denis Pleyel (L14) but I don’t recommend it at all.

Do you realize how terribly wrong it is that we’re opposing Israelis and Palestinians? And you don’t seem to mind? People who want the other side dead are our common enemies, and that’s not the Israeli people or the Palestinian people, but rather their leaders.
