6d Listen to this article Congregants of an east Charlotte church scattered into the woods Saturday when masked federal agents arrived and detained one of their members, according to witnesses. About 15 to 20 church members were doing yard work on the property off Albemarle Road while their children played games and their spouses cooked meals. Agents parked just outside a closed gate leading to the church parking lot and ran into the yard, said the pastor, who did not want to identify himself or his church. The agents asked no questions and showed no identification before taking one man away, whose wife and child were inside at the time, the pastor said. They attempted to grab others, too. "Right now, everybody is scared. Everybody," he said. "One of these guys with immigration, he say he was going to arrest one of the other guys in the church. He pushed him." Inside the church, women and children sobbed as they wondered whether their loved ones had been taken. Some yard workers fled into the surrounding woods when officials arrived, including 15-year-old Miguel Vazquez.

Bill Donohue thinks this is a compelling argument: Those priests weren’t pedophiles; they were gay.
For too long, the media and the chattering class have said that the Catholic Church clergy abuse scandal was due to "pedophile priests." Wrong. The data clearly show that the vast majority of priestly victims were male (81 percent) and that 78 percent were postpubescent. Why is this important? Because it means the molesters were homosexuals. When males have sex with males who are postpubsecent, that's called homosexuality, not pedophilia.

Olivia Nuzzi Did It All for Love Olivia Nuzzi loved him. She loved the politician, even though she was a political reporter and he was then a presidential candidate she had written about. She loved his eyes, "blue as the flame." She loved that "the sight of something as trivial as a rose" could move him to tears. She loved his insatiable appetites and his "particular complications and particular darkness." But she said "I love you" only after he said it first. He called her "Livvy" and wrote her poems. He said he wanted her to have his baby. He promised to take a bullet for her. This is what Nuzzi writes in her memoir, "American Canto," never naming the politician who readers will deduce is Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

I wrote today about that weird Axios piece that, through its reporter’s relentless digging, found a few OnlyFans women among the 3,700 instagram accounts followed by a Texas legislator.

Axios's scoop, if you can call it that, is that Talarico follows several adult-film stars and OnlyFans models on his Instagram account. Thompson (or a political operative who tipped him off) apparently sifted through the 3, 700-plus people Talarico follows to find ten women who model their wares, though they all appear to be clothed and engaged in, at most, PG-13 activities. (I will confess that I did not sort through all of their photos, but then again, I read Instagram solely for the articles.) And while Thompson never comes out and says it, he is clearly contrasting these accounts with how Talarico "wants to win back Christians..by exposing how Republican policies on immigration and other issues don't align with biblical values." It is possible, of course, that this story is just the tip of some sordid scandalous iceberg that will scuttle a promising political career. Evidence of such is not evident in the Axios piece. But there was one redeeming part of the piece-this comment from Talarico's spokesperson: "While James was unaware of how these women make money, he does not judge them for it and will not play into an effort to smear them for clickbait articles. That's exactly what his Christian faith calls him to do." Or, to paraphrase a famous biblical figure, "Smack down not, lest ye be smacked down even harder."

Scott Bessent, the Treasury secretary, said on Fox News Wednesday that the administration would be making "substantial" announcements about tariff exemptions over the next few days, saying that they would target "things we don't grow here." He named coffee, bananas and other fruits. "So that will bring the prices down very quickly," he said.
