I think the thing that bothers me most about the whole "use AI to generate music" thing is that it's not hard at all anymore to express oneself creatively *without* AI

Reframing my music release strategy to this:
I don't care much about maximizing reach anymore. I release music for myself, friends, and current & potential followers of my work. I go about finding those potential followers in community spaces where I can be myself and my ideas resonate.

You have to be optimistic. It's really hard right now to be, but you kind of have to. Otherwise you just give into the cynicism that led to this mess in the first place.
