No, this is a wild white-breasted nuthatch. I took the photo at the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge in Minnesota. They have a banding program on the refuge and have banded several nuthatches over the past couple of years. We don’t have enough elevation change here to limit their distribution.

My candidate is this federally endangered rusty patched bumble bee (Bombus affinis) I encountered during a bumble bee survey this summer. The specimen was handled under a USFWS Recovery Permit and released unharmed.
