I've been devouring the PDF since preordering. So. Damn. Good. If it's not my favorite RPG supplement in recent memory, it's only because "Moria" is such stiff competition. Also I love the integration of obscure Tolkien lore (e.g. in Chapter 3 - being vague to avoid spoilers).

I think no? Even if it were possible (I am guessing it hasn't been manufactured for a long time), I believe humans are the only reservoir, and no humans have had it for 40+ years. So unlike polio or measles, it's well and truly gone, barring a lab leak.

Lexis-Nexis is also all-in on it. I just onboarded with them (as a solo practitioner), and even after I had paused the AI-package sales pitch with "I will never, under any circumstances, use AI in my legal writing. Period.", I got one final "Are you sure you don't want...?"

Not a criminal lawyer, but I believe you are correct. Though Trump can still kill it entirely when he enters office through the pardon power (Nixon had not been charged when Ford pardoned him). However, filing to dismiss with prejudice is easier to accomplish under the radar than a self-pardon.

And when the (bad) med mal lawyers lose their cases because of all the stupid AI "tools" attorneys are being sold to "improve" our "writing", the attorneys specializing in legal malpractice can have their day in the sun! A tide of bullshit lifts all boats.

In New Orleans, stopped in a used bookstore. Found a copy of the rather niche book my advisor (who had died recently) had been writing when I was in college (in MA) 25 years before. Bought, flipped through, & found a bookmark from the local college bookstore, closed for years. Big nostalgia.

Cambridge, oddly, is on a different water system from most of the rest of the metro Boston area.
