Q7) Oh and another question, if we were to do a Zine at the end, could we put in the pieces that didn't get submitted for the prompts in the other rounds? That feels like a really fun way to use everyone's works <3 A) Yes, if your team would like to do a collaborative zine at the end, you are more than welcome to include pieces that were not submitted in the previous rounds! Your team can collaborate on the final round however you wish. Just keep in mind--the final round will have its own prompts! Q8) Is there a timeline for when we can post event works outside of the event server? A) You can post your pieces outside of the event server at any time! The pieces you create for the event should be celebrated! We suggest waiting until your piece is complete, but you are not bound to this suggestion and may post your piece at any point in the process. Team Captains should either post your piece on the Team Page or Retweet/Reblog/Repost it onto the team page. It’s recommended you tag the event account too, so that we may repost/reblog/retweet it onto the event page. NOTE: The event has a Bluesky and a Tumblr !

Rarepairs and Team Size
Q5) What counts as a “rarepair”? For this event, a “rarepair” is considered any ship that does not have a team. So, this can be a vastly unpopular, seemingly random ship--or, it can be a ship that might not be “unpopular” but one that didn’t gather enough members to have an official team during the campaigning period. Q6) Max team size? Currently, there is no max team size--however, depending on the event size we may implement this suggestion so that everyone feels included within the event & within their teams.

Q4! Note: Each team member gets a certain number of votes that they can use during the voting period for their favorite pieces, and should not vote for their own team! Voting will take place on a google form so that people are not discouraged or feel pressured to vote based on popularity.
BG3 Shipping Olympics Question 4 (from our Interest Check form) Are teams doing the voting? Teams themselves are not doing the voting, rather individuals in each team will be voting! So, team members can each vote for different pieces, and there should be no discussion of “alliances” in the team chats. All team chats will be visible to moderators at all time to prevent bad-faith and cheating :)

Additionally, I tried to ensure that writers get some special attention as well, so that they do not feel left behind in this event, by opening team submissions to both a visual and written piece; each with its own winning board.

I have tried my best to ensure it is as fair as possible for both small teams and large, allowing multiple opportunities for teams to catch up with one another up during bonus rounds.

There is also now a comment bang, so that everyone feels included, even if their piece isn't on the vote! --

Can one play for more than one team? No; each member should choose just one team to be a part of for this event. HOWEVER: During the bonus rounds, you can create ship content for any ship (points will be assigned to your team). For example, if you are on team Bloodweave but would like to create Halstarion for the bonus round, you can! The points you earn will be given to the Bloodweave team, since that is the team you are on.

Is [ship] allowed? Any ship is allowed so long as both of the characters involved are 18+. Any works created with sensitive content should simply be tagged/warned properly. Thank you! Are crack ships allowed? There are two answers to this: Crackships within the Baldur’s Gate 3 Universe: Yes! So long as the ship has at least 5 members interested in it, it will have its own team. Otherwise, it will be put in the “Rarepair” team. Crackships that involve non-BG3 characters: This is fine for bonus rounds-- so long as it is within the d&d universe. For example, if you wanted to ship Cazador with Strahd (dnd:Curse of Strahd) in a piece, we would be fine with that--but these pieces should only be posted for bonus rounds--not primary. Essentially, we would like to keep the main rounds for BG3 characters, specifically. But bonus rounds, if you want to be silly, be our guest!
