This shouldn’t be a controversial take: Imagine for a second that you make $100,000 USD in income per year… wouldn’t that be nice? Suppose you could save all that money (And for the sake of argument, let’s ignore inflation and depreciation for now) How long would it take you to become a millionaire? 10 years. How long would it take to become a BILLIONAIRE? 10,000 years. Back then, agriculture was considered a “new technology” How long would it take you to become a TRILLIONAIRE? 10 million years. If you started earning $100,000 USD per year back when our very first ancestors (Australopithecus) diverged in the evolutionary tree, by today you would only be halfway to your goal. These people have a ludicrous amount of money and power. They want to keep you misinformed, distracted, and too busy to care about what they are doing. They could single-handedly fix world hunger, or eradicate disease, or ensure quality education for all children in the planet, and access to drinking water… and they choose to accrue and hoard their wealth. We are headed towards a wold ruled by oligarchs. And I sure as heck don’t want that. the only good thing about genAI is that it got me to really love seeing bad art, because I know a person put in time and effort, made themselves vulnerable by showing it to others, and is trying to improve. I value that more than anything now
