Also Acosta’s handling of the plea deal was 100% discussed in the confirmation hearings, it’s why he withdrew!

Lots of people knew he pleaded guilty to procuring a child for prostitution, because it was absolutely reported
November 15, 2025 at 6:37 PM
What are you talking about? It was reported in the press as early as 2006

Next president needs to like make her ambassador to somewhere she won’t want to come back from just to take her out of play
November 15, 2025 at 4:53 PM
How many of your friends have pleaded guilty to procuring a child for prostitution?

her way is blocked by Hitler-happy adolescents, faces already familiar by way of the newsreels, imagining themselves predators but when observed more closely, fated after all to suffer, to be brought down as prey, even at the hands of those they thought were brothers
November 14, 2025 at 8:20 PM
That’s a good way to explain it as long as your story is set in the right time period

I’m a little bit embarrassed that I never made the connection between silver in film and vampires not showing up
November 14, 2025 at 8:07 PM
It’s also a bit funny when you know where Hoffenberg married his last wife
November 14, 2025 at 7:38 PM
Hoffenberg claimed Epstein embezzled and hid tens of millions offshore, but Hoff claims lots of things and the prosecutors wanted Hoff not Epstein
November 14, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Epstein made his way back in with the rich and powerful after he got kicked out of Wall Street by running hustles with Hoffenberg, who is another Trump type in that archetype, and then kinda disappeared once he had the resources.
November 14, 2025 at 7:25 PM
He was very ambitious and almost completely amoral, a bad combination at the best of times
November 14, 2025 at 7:10 PM
Some of Epstein’s emails suggest the latter to me
November 14, 2025 at 7:00 PM
I think there’s an interesting question that ends up embedded in that model about whether Epstein was gathering blackmail material for them, or as insurance against them and the interests they (Trump/Brunel) were working with to aggregate the supply
November 14, 2025 at 6:58 PM
Epstein’s job here was to aggregate the demand and help facilitate the laundering of the funds into appropriate vehicles
November 14, 2025 at 6:54 PM
One version of this that passes around is Epstein as basically broker and Brunel/Trump as suppliers through their modeling agencies

chartalism can only take us so far and it can take us a lot farther if we remain the global reserve currency
November 14, 2025 at 4:55 PM
it's also really hard to walk the line between, "the United States has done awful things as global hegemon and enforcer of capitalism," and "things are going to get so much worse than that in ways you cannot imagine, because imagining is a mind-ruiner"
November 14, 2025 at 4:55 PM
the strength of the united states dollar is dependent in incredibly deep ways on things outside of our national borders
November 14, 2025 at 4:53 PM
we have also learned it's really hard to get normies to understand what the dollar is, how it's a tool of hegemony, and why it's under attack
