I'm not sure we can lose 4 more games and win the title unless you believe City truly stink...

I think you nailed it in your previous comments though - not *when* they get back... *If* they get back and we manage to keep the other key pillars of the squad fit (Rice, Zubi, Saka, a striker would be nice). If we can't, it ain't gonna happen for us.

I don't think you need to take this with any salt. The term "sterile domination" has been around for years to describe exactly this, and our team has been guilty of it too frequently.

Or as Clive would say, we play 4-0 football at 0-0 and 1-0 far too often.

Why do you think Mikel has been so reticent to select a more "protagonist" 11 in the first half? And do you think this game may change his approach in future matches?

Why do you think Mikel is so reticent to pick a more "protagonist" lineup? We probably all could've predicted this, but most of us would have picked different. Is it just the inevitable David Moyes in him?

It's fine, if we win all of our matches and beat them at our place we still win the title because their GD will be poor 0.o

Basically because they've won the league and we haven't. Therefore we still have to "prove" we're good enough to do it. And losing 1-0 away to your title rivals playing pretty negative football doesn't necessarily do that. I kind of get it tbh.

I've said all season, not hyperbolic, we are easily the worst team in the top 10 of the league at scoring on attacking transitions. We leave so many goals out there by being so poor at it.

Maybe that ~200 minutes an option takes out of the legs is the tipping point, maybe not? None of us can know. Point is when you've done nothing to try help the situation my sympathy is basically 0, and I'm not minded to give benefit of the doubt. If they'd done something, I'd be more sympathetic.

Well we could adapt to the reality of the situation that our players are likely overloaded and invest in sufficient rotation options up front (or make short term mitigation with loans) but we didn't do that.

I agree playing the players isn't a mistake.

He had the summer off though didn't he. Suspect those seasons he's down include AFCON.

Ødegaard was bad luck. Saka (to an extent) was bad luck. Jesus was terrible luck.

Martinelli and Kai are not. That's just what happens when you overload players as a result of not reinforcing properly.
