BFARe are a campaign group made up of parish councils & residents of Bedford to find a better route for East West Railway.
If 'a labour Cllr' believed that Cllr Gribble's motion was inconsistent with the earlier support for the proposed Council response, they clearly had not properly studied the 60-odd page document during the 7 days notice provided.

By their actions they have sacrificed the one option the Council had of putting pressure on EWRCo to rethink the 6-track solution.

It would appear that the Labour and Lib Dem Groups are content to continue their irrational stance that they support a 4-track solution in the face of an enforced 6-track end result.

destructive 6-track option. Despite the motion being in line with the earlier approved consultation response (which rejected the 6-track version of Route E), the vote once more divided along party lines except notably the Poets Cllrs supported their community residents by voting for the motion.

The subsequent motion proposed by Independent Cllr Gribble on behalf of the Executive was to regularise the Council's position in respect of the EWR proposed Route E solution as detailed in the NSC by withdrawing support for Route E in the face of EWR's insistence on prosecuting the

The majority vote to support the response subject only to some uncontroversial amendments by the Lib Dem Group was unsurprising.

This document had been circulated to all Cllrs a week beforehand and contained the Council's rejection of the EWR plan to provide 2 additional tracks north of Midland Station which required the demolition of 27 Poets homes plus reduced plot size for a further 27 homes.

How is it confusing to him? The fact is The main business was for the Council Members to accept the response composed by Jon Shortland on their behalf to the EWR Non-Statutory Consultation (NSC).
