Whales, sharks, and turtles need safe migration routes. 🐋🦈🐢 The @bezosearthfund.org and @rewildorg.bsky.social are working with partners to help four nations create the world’s first cross-border biosphere marine reserve in the Eastern Tropical Pacific.

We once mapped the Moon better than our own ocean. Now, with support from the @bezosearthfund.org, @darwinfoundation.bsky.social and partners are charting the Eastern Tropical Pacific’s hidden reefs and mountains so we can protect them.

A forest the size of a living room. 🌳 In Elizabeth, NJ, a once-empty lot is now a thriving microforest – and it’s just one of many community-led restoration projects we’ve supported with Groundwork USA to bring nature back to neighborhoods.

With support from the @bezosearthfund.org, Fundación Jocotoco is protecting the waters around the Galápagos – stopping illegal fishing and helping endangered species like hammerhead sharks and sea turtles recover. These waters are part of a vital marine corridor worth defending.

Decades of deforestation and drought have drained life from landscapes like this one in Kenya’s Kieni Forest.

Now, local communities are bringing it back – reviving the land, restoring water, and building resilience for a changing climate.

If we lose the sharks, the ocean begins to unravel. Many of them migrate across the high seas – the expansive international waters beyond national jurisdiction.

To protect the ocean, we have to protect the high seas.

The high seas – ocean areas beyond borders – are Earth's beating heart, now weakening from human impact. We must protect 30% of the ocean by 2030, impossible without safeguarding these waters that make up nearly 2/3 of the ocean. Our planet needs its heart healthy.
