Dementia care is all about the face-to-face, but sometimes desk research/online tools help people experiencing #dementia and families in #Wiltshire find the extra connections they need.

Our online Support Village will always be a work in progress - tell us what we've missed bit.ly/4lY9ut9

Never too old for a disco!
We had a great boogie at #OldSilkWorks first 70s-inspired disco - complete with DJ, bouncer on the door, mocktails and the lovely company of Warminster School kids, who also lent their disco lights. Groovy time had by all!

Many congratulations to Ali Baker who lives with early onset dementia and last week jumped out of a plane to support others affected. Ali, diagnosed at 56, and friends Charley & Hannah skydived to raise £1,600!

Huge thanks to everyone who walked or helped out at A Walk to Remember at Bowood House. Sunday was a brilliant day out in beautiful North Wiltshire countryside, raising much-needed funds for dementia care and support.

We're doing it all again in September!

Our new memory group is underway in #Warminster. The weekly Tuesday group will be a mash-up of our most popular activities - Music for the Mind, Movement for the Mind, a memory cafe, plus plenty of chat, experience-sharing and mutual support along the way!

Nothing goes to waste at Corsham Memory Shed! An offcut of MDF became a handy notepad to jot down those all-important tea and coffee orders.

Our new #memoryshed opens this month in #Calne - can't wait to get busy there too.

Some runaway piglets provided extra entertainment at Kennet Muddy Boots group's visit to The Farm at Avebury. An excellent spring trip for the group who love being out 'on location' in Wiltshire.

Another inspiring #UnderstandingDementia workshop! Thanks to everyone who came to Frances' session at Giffords Surgery in #Melksham, part of our ongoing efforts to create #dementiafriendly communities across #Wiltshire.
Thanks to @TNLComFund for funding this work.

Yesterday we celebrated and wished a happy retirement to our longstanding head of day care Grant Newton. He has led our four day clubs with vision, compassion and an unwavering belief in the person behind the #dementia. Wishing all the best for a happy retirement, Grant, Higby and Dottie 💕

Lovely to meet the spring lambs this week!
Being out in nature is a tonic for all but especially beneficial for people affected by #dementia. All thanks to everyone at The Piggery for making members of Kennet #MuddyBoots group so welcome🌱🐑

Our dementia advisers provide personalised support, advice and guidance to people affected by #dementia in #Wiltshire. And they get out to groups too, meeting the people we support more informally and having some fun together. Here's new adviser Kelly getting stuck in at #MovementfortheMind 🤸‍♂️

We support 2,500 people affected by dementia every year. We know how our amazing staff bring happiness and empowerment, reduce isolation and restore dignity. So we're proud to be part of #ProvidersUnite day of action. It is time for change, for investment and for policy makers to #ValueSocialCare

Good luck to everyone at #ProvidersUnite march today, including our own senior manager Monique Bentley. Social care matters - it brings joy, security and comfort to the most vulnerable, but Government actions are putting our sector at risk. Social care is a right not a privilege!

Our latest #intergenerational partnership kicked off with a skittles match between #OldSilkWorks members and the Year 6s from Princecroft primary who will visit the club each week. Fab to see the generations connecting!

'I love going to #ScotsLane. It’s a break from the boredom of home, a joyful place where I meet new people, a new bunch of friends given to you.'

It's absolutely the right decision, but we're so disappointed Bath Christmas Market is called off tomorrow due to #StormDarragh. We had the charity chalet for one day only, to sell gifts handmade by volunteers to raise essential funds. Now what to do?
Few pics of past years to cheer us up!

Dogs are a daily presence in our day clubs in Wiltshire, but it's not often we are visited by a donkey. Needless to say, a hit!
Huge thanks to Kelly's Donkeys and dear, patient Dermot 💕

Congratulations to Phil Horton and Susan Dixon, who have each clocked up 20 years as support workers. Thank you for making life richer for people affected by dementia, for always seeing the person first and for continuing to be be such an important part of our team 💙

Members of our Memory Shed were commissioned by Corsham Town Council to make bird and bat boxes, with extras to sell for funds at Bath Christmas market. Fab example of a proactive local council working with us to help retain skills, build friendships, support nature and do some good 😊
