Desperate for solution to remove hornet nest from the eaves by my front door.. that doesnt involve spraying poison next to my mini clover meadow which is covered in bumblebees. It’s in a corner so i dont think i can do the gas in a bucket thing. 😭

Today I drove my baby cat Beatrix to the emergency vet an hour away. She’s ok now, hoping for a smooth recovery.

A smoke while walking around the yard helped ease the adrenaline-crash anxiety. Seeing my iris transplants in bloom makes my heart smile.
Three tall bearded irises, white dollops of fairy houses with yellow throats, on solid pencil-width stems. The late afternoon light is warm, golden, and slightly dappled through nearby trees. The smooth trunks of three birch saplings grow through the middle of the irises. In the right lower corner, fan-shaped iris foliage, bright green. Just out of focus in the background, a couple smaller irises, lavender with purple skirts, and a few purple chive blossoms scattered. Holy cow how do i still have 1475 characters left?

The dozen ramps I planted in the woods last year have all come up!!

90 lbs, 5’6”, neutered, vaccines up to date, has been treated for Lyme. Amazing walker (& hugger). He arrived as a stray in Nov. No other dogs, cats, or small kids. Call for appt.

Today’s bouquet for the neighbor:
Bouquet of white hydrangea blooms, purple coneflower that’s actually more pink, with spiky gold mounds in the centers, a stem of medium pink phlox, and 2 stems of astilbe which look like pink feathers. Bouquet is in a white glass vase (milk glass), on a weathered deck rail, with blurry background of green lawn and trees.
