A major storm and flood in a natural river valley vs in a valley we have built up, dammed and live in the flood plain, is not only chalk n cheese, the way we report it is too. A huge flood causes a temp flooded plain, which recovers, but if houses wash away it's "$2m damage." WE make things worse.

And, of course, if (*doing whatever*) "doesn't make economic sense," then we must look for corruption, bribery, owning of lawmakers, etc for the reasons. We need to "follow the money."

The truth is, truth is *hard* for the WSJ. Following 'the market,` and parroting a narrative that won't upset the rich is much MUCH easier for them. They would feel very uncomfortable ruffling rich feathers.
