I am so frustrated by Gertie, which I can't explain without giving any kind of spoilers, but man is the frustration real.
That aside, if (when? 😏) this gets made for the screen, I have the perfect person in mind for her role. Wunmi Mosaku

With the Smithsonian contributing in the attempt to rewrite and hide parts of history, I feel like this is an even more important time to start reading this book.

11 pages in, not even out of the introduction, and I'm wondering if this book may be too smart for me. Or should I not read it when I'm getting tired.

Current read: Abundance

Finished Vol. 5 of the series Monstress. I wish I knew more who read these. The take on racism, homosexuality, being a woman, being in pain & suffering, is all told with top notch storytelling by Marjorie Liu & phenomenal artwork by Sana Takeda. I'm reading them as fast as the library gets them in.

Sitting on the front porch of where I'll be moving to this summer. Book out, rain gently falling, birds doing their bird things, church bells softly playing in the distance.

Thanks to being sick for a decent part of February, I didn't get much reading done. What I did read, however, was really good.
If you're looking for a good manga series that's completed, I highly suggest For thr Kid I Saw In My Dreams.

The Monkey
(theaters)

Body horror comedy with some laugh-out-loud parts, this one felt like it was adapted from a short story. Worth the time spent, but I'm still a bit bothered by what I felt was a (granted small) unfinished plot point that should have been cleaned up.

I am SOCLOSE to finally meeting and surpassing the reading streak I broke back in I think 2021 when I had covid and didn't read the whole time. I want to surpass it so bad.

Reading non-fiction is rough with constantly being reminded how selective history class was while in school.

Partner and I both feel that valentines day is stupid & we don't celebrate. Yet every year we use it as an excuse to get each other something, rarely give it ON the 14th, & make sure to say that it's a just because gift.

Anyway, our weirdness is the way I finally got Wake Up and Open Your Eyes 💜
