Only a quick visit to RSPB Sandwell Valley this morning as the football kicks off early. But conditions were beautiful (if cold) and the Parakeets were showing very well. There were also Redwings, Song Thrush, Sparrowhawk and Mandarin duck around.

Oh for some better light, because I had lovely views of Kingfisher, Water Rail, Goosanders and a leucistic Pheasant at @staffswildlife.bsky.social Wolseley Centre this morning, but the photos don’t do them justice #UKBirding #StaffsBirding

Storm Amy didn’t stop me visiting WWT Slimbridge today, where duck numbers seem to be on the rise. Good to see large numbers of Teal and quite a lot of Wigeon too. Black-tailed Godwits in there too #UKBirding

I counted 23 Goosanders on Toft Bank alone at Draycote Water, as well as lots of Wagtails, ducks and geese. The Grey Phalarope was there, but very distant #UKBirding
