One of my childhood core memories is the big fancy house that had gate posts with black iron penguins on them, in which I was CERTAIN The Penguin from Batman lived in.
Later, as an adult, I drove by & someone had painted the penguins to look like bald eagles.
(They were bald eagles the whole time)

School bus that picks up the neighbor kids turns on the back-up beeper & sits there waiting for kids. If that doesn't work to bring the kids out, they blare the horn. It's like a 7:30 alarm clock that no one asked for.
