Finally finished this weaving! The idea was to do a Rothko inspired piece 🤪 but fiber and liquid paint are not the same.

Excellent meal at Magpie Cafe in Sacramento. The vegan chocolate mouse was surprisingly great. Highly recommended this friendly, casual place!

Lunch with a friend at The Shop by Porter, on 1st Ave. Delicious chicken shawarma with marinated chickpeas, pickled onions and grilled peppers. So good…..

Great visit in Finland. Good food, design and architecture. Very interesting hearing about their history with Russia and the current situation.

Lemony Lentil salad from The Greens Cook Book. Hadn’t made this one in ages. I swapped goat cheese for the feta to control the salt amount. Still a great recipe! #tecipe #food #lentils #homecooking #homecooked

Had a great meal at Tivoli in Seattle a few days ago. The Caesar salad, cheese pizza and pasta with bolognese sauce were all wonderful. The frozen custard dessert topped of a delicious meal. Really want to go back!

An art piece I did a few years ago. Seems appropriate for the last few weeks.

We all need to stay healthy and here is an excellent recipe for Broccoli with sizzled nuts and dates from NYT cooking. I used half the oil and pecans. The dates and generous amount of black pepper make this recipe!

Hot out of the oven, my mom’s Pecan pie. I added chocolate to half, as my husband likes it that way. Letting it set up a few hours before we have for dessert! If you want the recipe DM me.

Enjoy the flavors of Laos at Taurus Ox in north Cap. Hill, Seattle. Shown in the delicious chewy beef jerky and the unique tasty burger which got this place noticed by the food community. I also like the yellow vegan curry with tofu. Check them out!

About finished with this piece. Have to be careful taking it off the loom as I used a too thin yarn for the warp, and a couple end strands snapped! I’m still learning. #weaving #tapestry #yarn #yarnart

Why do so many recipes call for using olive oil when roasting at a high heat? After research I’ve determined when using an oven heat over 350 degrees you need to use a high heat oil such as sunflower or safflower. That’s what I use. Opinions? #roasting #cooking #baking

Grappa is a great restaurant choice when in the Queen Anne neighborhood. Get their saganaki, flames and all, to start. Also recommend their generous bowl of flavorful paella, halibut and pasta primavera, when in season. Always friendly service and they are open for lunch & dinner every day!

Lunch at Vivienne’s Bistro in the old Loulay space in downtown Seattle. Fancy Chinese food to match the gorgeous space. The chewy master chef noodles are fabulous. Also 🩷ed the nine flavor basil beef. The cucumbers/wood ear mushrooms were fine, but wouldn’t order again. I’ll be back!

My fav way to make juicy, crispy skin chicken. Dry chicken. To flour, add lots of dried sage, salt & pepper. Heat 1/8th inch high heat oil in a skillet on med/high. Coat chicken in flour mix, add to pan. Turn frequently, adjust heat as needed to not burn, after 15-25 mins voila! Serve with lemon. 😍

Look at that buttery grilled cheese sandwich. And the just right BLT. My husband claimed this brownie is the best in WA state. He’s the sweet tooth in the family, so I trust his verdict. This was a lunch we had at Vista Bakeshop in Seabrook, WA, a couple days before Christmas. Perfect lunch.

Fantastic meal at Revel recently. My favorite dish was the chicken skewers plated with a creamy garlic cheese and shishito peppers. Their iconic short rib wontons are always fantastic, as was the coulotte steak. Only dessert was a disappointment. Love that they are open on Monday and Tuesday!

Want a delicious decadent soup? Try Ruth Reichl’s Creamy mushroom soup recipe. I used vegetable stock with some porcini powder instead of beef stock and omitted the bay leaf. Easy and rich, it could be a vegetarian “oyster stew” ! This is a keeper
