I read this book in 2009 or 2010. I LOVED it. If it was a watercolor or an animated film, it would have been created by Don Bluth.
I re-ordered it to read out loud to Jimmy last week. I had forgotten the specifics of the plot, but was amused to remember that it is a quest for eggs in wartime.
