the 80s ended with the fall of the Wall in ‘89. You’re spot on about the cultural start of the 90s in 1993 but not sure what to make of the 4-year metamorphosis between those two. Different than both of them.

I was thinking of certain Belgian teams who put pressure on the UCI to keep things local for them. But I understand the travel expense issue.
It’s too bad for us here! The WCs here were great, and some racers came early and did other races like Charm City. This year it was only Manon Bakker.

The Belgians and Dutch don’t want to travel, so no races off the continent because they’re all that matters it seems. They even gripe about traveling to Spain. The end of the US WCs has played a big role in the decline of the sport here.
